Rachel Ray Dinner

Kathy and I made a WHOLE RACHEL RAY dinner the other night! it only took both of us 40 minutes to make. I think that it took us longer than that to shop for the whole meal. We had to go to the Smiths in Logan and buy stuff that we had never ever heard of....I will try and post the recipes on here later, I cant at work because everytime I open up foodnetwork.com then it totally jacks up all my connections.... and that is annoying. if you want the recipes then email me and I will email you the recipes... So we made stuffed chicken breasts. I had never stuffed anything before, so Kathy had to help me cut them we put spinach, pinenuts, garlic, romano and parmesan cheese inside the chicken breasts and wrapped them in procuitto. the chicken did come out a little tough. We made a salad with a dressing made from anchovy paste and olive oil.it had parsely, tomotos olives and fried capers on top. I had never bought capers before. I actually ended up liking them... Kathy did not like them as much she said they were to "woody" We made a pasta dish with spinach fettucine in a gorgonzola cream sauce it also had some spinach leaves mixed in. Kathy said it was like we were eating at a five star restaraunt! I agree:) if you want to see pictures of my meal look on facebook under random January 2009 pictures if you want recipes let me know:)

book

I read a book called Born Blue a couple of weeks ago. It was one of the most poingnant books I have ever read. It was about a girl named Janie who later decieded to go by LeShaya. She had a very troubled childhood. this is a major understatement but all through that, what sustained her was that she was able to sing like really sing. But she could never quite get it together because of her troubled childhood. This book really touched me and I am glad I read it even though it did make me sad. I loaned it to my friend Kellie after I read it and it really touched her too. I would love to see a movie made out of this book.... It did have a really open ending. Kellie one liked that, but Keli two felt like she likes endings more wrapped up.

movie

I watched the movie Kickin it Old School the other day it was on Starz. I think that it got bad reviews but I actully liked it. I liked all the 80s references and thought it was amusing.... I didn't like all the pointless innuedo and cussing though:(

movie

Kathy and I went and saw this at the Lewiston $ last week. It was very sad but what do you expect from Nicholas Sparks. I cryed a lot and was a bit embarrassed cause I thought um... there a TON of people from my ward there and I was crying:( I loved the part where she told her daughter, I loved your dad cause he was your father but I fell in love with this other guy and he made me feel extraordinary and made me realize who I am and want to become a better person and everyone deserves that kind of love.... and I agree... even though I have a huge crush on the actor that played her ex-husband... and have never been attracted to Richard Gere ... kathy is though:)

book

I read a really cute girl's books, called Millicent Min Girl Genius. It is about an eleven year old genius and one summer of her life. It was a fun read and I wanted to reccommend it:)

I took Jessyca and Sami to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua at the Lewiston $ theater. I thought this movie was going to be SO STUPID...................BUT I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( maybe because I just got Spike) but I loved all the cute dogs! It was a cute family movie. When I came out of the movie, my car was so frozen I could not even get the key in and we had to walk down to Vern's and he had to help me get into it. crazy cold here in Utah! Even after the movie and the cold........ Still don't know that Spike needs any clothes:)

Movie

I watched Dan in Real Life on Starz the other day and I really liked this movie. It was very heartwarming. There were so many parts that just really touched me:) I loved the whole interaction with him and his daughters and I hope that one day a man will forgive me my past and I will forgive him his just as the savior has done for all of us through the atonement.

movie

I saw the movie Wild Hogs on Starz the other day. If you have not seen this movie DONT. It is SO STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there are so many pointless jokes about sex and homosexuality that I don't even know what to say.... and what is up with Tim Allen for the past TWENTY YEARS being married to a woman MY AGE and having elementary school KIDS like um Tim should be playing a grand dad to kids that age!!!!!!!!!!!! It is also uncomfortable seeing such ICONS from my childhood like John Travolta and Martin Lawrence old and fat!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the other guy he was gay! He was gay and they tryed to make him seem straight????????????? bottom line this movie SUCKS!

Christmas Day 2008

Christmas Day I went over to the Adams family house. I was able to see them open gifts I got Darby and Emyrie cute dresses. Davey some ornaments and Lexie some lotion. They made some delicious breakfast burritos for Christmas breakfast. After breakfast I went home and watched all my special features on my Sound of Music DVD. I went back over for dinner and Davey cooked us some steaks on the grill. we had mushrooms and onions to top them and beets and fried pototos and for dessert some delicious pecan pie that Lexie made. After dinner the Caudle Family came over (Tim,Brinna,Ryleigh,Tegan and McKinna) the adults played games and the kids just played with all their new stuff. It then started snowing and blowing so crazy that I thought I better go home Davey and Tim followed me home in Davey's truck and when I pulled out of Sugar Lane the wheather was so bad that I for real did not know where I was.... I had to tell myself that I lived on that street for two years and I lived very close to reassure myself. I could not see a thing on my street I had to roll down the window to see my way home.I got home and went into my driveway. Davey had to pull me out then he drove back and forth in my driveway in my driveway until he had made a little road for me.
During the day besides watching my DVD I went for a walk with Walter and Kellie and their goats and Spike. The weather was SO BAD. I am glad that I was able to take Spike out though. If I had not he would have been cooped up all day with the bad weather. I had a great Christmas :) and got packages from my mom and aunt:)

Christmas Eve 2008

Christmas Eve 2008. I had to WORK:( I don't think that anyone that was there wanted to be there so we had great comraderie .... because we ALL wanted to GO HOME!!!!!!!!!! I went on my break and got the movies Home Alone and Elf and The Sound of Music. When I got home I went to the Nebeker's house. Megan fixed a great dinner and had myself and Claire and Diane Jorgensen over. It was really nice getting to know both those families.:) I went home and watched Home Alone, which I have not seen for AGES and forgot how funny it was and went to bed. A lot of people asked if I wished I was at home. I said that I had all ready went home in July and was so glad that I was home then in the summer for my bday and the 4th and I would not trade that for Christmas :)

Christmas Caroling

I took my friend Marian & Vern's kids CHRISTMAS CAROLING!!!!!!!!!! so it was me, Jaci age 9 and Justin age 7 We went to several houses in my ward. We made bags of candy bags for everybody. We started out at Jill's. She invited us in and told the kids how cute they were and gave the kids more candy to take with them than we brought her! We then went to about The Bishops, The DeFriez's, The Nielson's, The kid's house, Rachael's house, The Rivera's house, and of course we hit SUGAR LANE! It was so cold outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only SEVEN DEGREES and I wore a dress! how silly am I? At every house we started out singing one song ( usually Rudolf or Jingle Bell's) we then asked if they had a request if they said they did not know then we had a back up song (usually the above songs or Silent Night) then we sang we wish you a merry christmas and gave them a bag of candy. When we were at Rachael's house Taylor requested " I love to see the temple" when she sang it she said "cause the temple is a house of God a house of sleeping beauty" hahahaha it does kind of look like somewhere that Sleeping Beauty would live. When we were on Sugar Lane. We went to Arleta's I am so glad we went there she was so happy to see us she invited us in and gave the kids some cookies and was just so so so so happy! We then went to the Peterson's where Jeremy and Mac and Jakoby serenaded us back and sang with us with sign language. THEN we finally met up with my friends who, since my cell phone died I had no idea where they were, we went to the Morris's then we all went over to the Nebeker's and along with the Adams and the Caudles had some yummy hot chocolate and cookies and the kids made some cute ornaments.:) It was a cold and fun night! we were out from like SIX TO NINE! how crazy is that?

CORDELIA/HARMONY/SPIKE

I have three pets now,1. Cordelia she is a kitten still. she was living underneath someones bed and then was living at my friend Toni's who takes care of strays. Cordelia is shy she lets you pick her up sometimes. She will be in the same room with me with out spooking. 2. Harmony is a full grown cat that is very young. Harmony is so pretty! she is gray and cream and white. Harmony is so shy she will lay ALMOST in the same room as me and will not let anyone pick her up. Harmony does not ever show herself when I have visitors.
3. Spike he is a black lab that is two months old he was born in October 2008. He is wild but also good and very friendly he loves to go on walks and seems to know that I am his owner and that my house is also his house. I am going to put him in puppy school soon and we will see how that goes:)

gingerbread houses

I had this great idea to make home made gingerbread houses this year so I got together with my friend Rachael and her kids Taylor and Johnny. Rachael found a recipe and started making the dough and I made the icing. The kids put icing on some Pepperidge Farm Gingerbread cookies that Rachael bought at the outlet store...... turns out making a home made gingerbread house is HARD! Rachael could barely get her roof on and I think that she might have hot glued it on:) So the next night I went to Lee's and got a gingerbread kit that cost around 12.99. Rachael said with all the trouble she had that it was worth it! It came with everything.... and everything kept getting caught in my long nails and I only decorated one half the house so it looks a big ghetto... BUT I MADE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE! I did take some pictures of Rachael's house and my house and Johnny Boy with our house's but my phone broke loosing those pictures:( I will try and take some of my house tonight before it gets dismantled :)
