Keli bakes July 2015

I love the Mitford Series by author Jan Karon. In the books their is a character that is famous for making an orange marmalade cake.
The author said the cake was fictious so she contacted a chef to come up with a recipe for it.

I have been wanting to make it FOREVER! In July 2015, I finally did.
It took FOREVER! there is a view of it cut.

 frosted and ready to eat.

Heather helped me and is the reason that it looks so good!

hate this picture of me ..but Heather and I and the cake.

 plus we played Trivial Pursuit.

Keli celebrates 4th of July 2015 part 4 Moorefield, West Virginia

The day after the 4th of July. Margret and I went over to my cousin Mark's who happens to live next door to my cousin Dale.

They had fun playing croquet. Everyone but myself and my cousin Theresa played. Margret enjoyed looking at my cousin Dale's garden.

Matthew took us for rides on this thing.

Margret took a long ride on a 4 wheeler with my cousin Mark.

I sat on the porch and read.

It was a very relaxing time!

Matthew giving my dad a ride.

My dad.. He was not in a good mood that day..

I made Margret take this picture of me reading Michael J. Fox's bio in the back of that thing.. CAUSE I READ EVERYWHERE!!!

Keli celebrates the 4th of July 2015 Moorefield, WV part 1

I arrived in Moorefield, WV this year late because I had to work that day. There had been a parade through town that we missed but my cousin's Matthew and Meghan were both in it.

We had a nice dinner and we made home made bananna ice cream.

here is Margret turning the crank while Makenna sits on the ice cream maker and Uncle Tommy and Aunt Georgia watch on.

Keli travels Washington DC July 2015

I found this urban walk in Washington DC listed in The Washingtonian magazine and decided to go on it. My friend Margret went with me. Here are some of the pictures that we took.
We walked around by the Department of Transportation in DC I had no idea that they had a transportation walk.

I took all these pictures for him and then I realized that they were kinda boring. I think you really need to go and experience it.

This is Margret looking out over the Anacostia River. It was full of trash.

there were whole floating islands of trash..

I just do not know what to think...

 trash..

 trash..

 trash..

there was one part where there were a ton of balls... I have no idea why..

you do not want to look at that trash anymore

 I loved this bridge.

There was the trashy side and the gentrified side.. which you could see with just a slight turn of your head they were that close..

stuff like this free fountain you could walk through..

 THIS FREE POOL!!!!!!!!!

 THIS TRAPEZE SCHOOL!

nobody was outside because it was about to rain.

we ate at this restaurant. It was good but they charged too much for the amount that you got.

That is about all, good day, good exercise.
