My Vacation

I recently went back to VA....If you want all the details email me and I will email you the stories I had from there but I want to share three funny stories with you that I really liked
1. I went and got my nails done at a place called Vanity Nails in Leesburg,VA and I hope that if someone googles them for a review this come up.... So I go in and everyone there is vietnemese( the technicians that is) and besides me there is just one black girl about my age getting her nails done. but there were tons of people getting pedicures done the whole time I was there which is weird cause here in Utah I dont know if I have seen any one get a pedicure any of the times that I have gotten my nails done.... So I go in and my nails are really long and they were purple and light purple on the tips the manicurist ping was so confused by this... her and this other vietnemese lady could not stop talking about my nails, finally they said to me how do you pick up paper? I said what? they said paper how do you pick it up?? I said um I have never had a problem with paper but I do with change.... and buttoning buttons.... then the other vietnemese woman that was wearing a skirt so low that I could see her bra said it is like those nails are from Hollywood It is like you have HOLLYWOOD NAILS are you from Hollywood? I said no I am from a small town in Utah on the ID border. They then said why are your nails like that then do you use those nails for your night time activities....

Later I heard from LOTS of people that I have "black girl " nails there is a big dividing line in VA and a lot of raciest people and apparently NO WHITE GIRLS IN VA have their nails done like mine.... I even heard several times why are your nails like a black girls??? I had no idea it was no OK or socially acceptable there to have my nails like this....

so there ya go story number one I have since replaced my hollywood/hooker/black girl nails with regular Utah white nails.....

my day

MY day :
Saturday March 21st 2009
I went to the RS birthday celebration. We had to show off our talents, I have never done this before, This time I put up photography, some pictures that I took of my friend Doddie's daughter, Amanda. My display looked so cute. I will try and post a picture on here. My friend Kellie played her cello and sang a solo, We had a quiz on trivia about different sisters in the ward. Someone in the RS pres. just picked one for me it was "loves to try new recipes and share them with everyone she knows" The RS pres also volenteered me to read children stories to the group, I read "the paperbag princess" and piggy pie" We also had a very nice brunch.

After that Kellie and I went and took Spike to get his rabies shot. I was a little bit late so I had to chase the vet down, but I got Spike his rabies shot :)

I went to the thrift store and volenteered.

I came back and went over to Kellie and Walter's and we decieded to the hot springs in ID.

We drove through Preston and then took a right and drove for ever past Riverdale, past everything, until finally we saw a turn off for the hot springs. We then headed up a dirt road that had a sheer drop off on one side and a dirt wall. Walter was only driving like 35 mph, but it felt like he was going 80 the road was so twisty and full of switchbacks every turn you felt like you were going to go off a cliff. When we had almost abandonded all hope of ever finding this place, we saw some faint lights in the distance ... We pulled into the parking lot which was like a river of mud, I was so upset I chose not to wear my dairy farmer boots....so I walked through this muddy parking lots with puddles which when I stepped in went over my flats. We walked into this building where there was a counter with a shattered alcohal bottle on it, and a proclamation saying that we can NOT have glass bottles there and a list of the people that broke that bottle and it said all these people are disrespectful and rude and how if we knew them we should tell them.... there was some candy for sale and some tye-dyed shirts and a big chest freezer where they had hot pockets we could buy. Walter said he was sorry that he had ate at the Burger King in Preston with all the food options they had.

We paid to use the hot springs then walked out and followed a dimley lit path to some small pools we tryed the hottest one first there were some couples in there smoking and cussing and drinking and that pool was HOT, we went to the next pool and there were a whole bunch of people in that pool smoking and cussing and drinking. They were super friendly and we had a nice time socializing with them. We went to another pool and there were people in there that were really quiet and looked at us like we were crazy, and they were smoking and drinking and if they had been talking would probably be cussing.... so we went back to the middle pool....

when it was time to close the lady turned the lights on and off several times. So we went back to the main house and I bought a magnet. It is always strange for me the places that do have magnets and the places that don't ...

This guy in the middle pool named Andy that was smoking and cussing and drinking also introduced himself to me and shook my hand. I think he was interested in me.... but um I had mentioned that I was active in the church several times, so I was just like nice to meet you besides I could barely SEE him hahahahahahah

so that was our experience at the hot springs, Walter said that he feels like when he goes there he needs to drink hahahahahah not really but still.......... and they have a website you can find it if you google Maple Grove Hot Springs Thatcher, ID
