gospel

So I am at work, and this lady calls me about her internet not working. When she found out I was from Utah, she asked the if I was a Mormon. I replyed that I was, that I had been a member for ten years. She asked if I had really investigated and studied the church. I said that I had. She said how would you consider yourself regarding gospel knowledge, I said I would consider myself top five in my congregation.... at least ( I know this is prideful but it is TRUE!!!!) She said that well if you would study it MORE then you would know that that church is NOT true. She went on to say that the church was not true because we believe that "works" get you into Heaven and I said well we believe that EVERYONE will be ressurrected and their body and soul will be together and that salvation is unconditional. She said well you should not have to WORK to get into Heaven, and the Bible does not agree with that. I said well the Bible agrees with keeping the commandments and we need to keep those why would we just be able to get into Heaven if we did not keep the commandments and the laws and ordinance of the gospel???? She was like wow, you are very prepared for this conversation, maybe I should read the Bible more so that I can be prepared next time. She went on to say that she just KNEW it was not true and I was confused. This conversation went on WAY to long until I said WELL I KNOW MY CHURCH IS TRUE! and that if you want to know anything about it then you can start getting your info from reliable sources like http://www.lds.org/ of by reading the BOM itself CAUSE I KNOW IF YOU READ IT YOU WOULD KNOW IT WAS TRUE LIKE I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She said that we would have to part as "friends" and that I could just transfer her to tech support.... Like um... yeah I was ready to do that forever ago.... I just felt like if you want to BASH MY CHURCH or THE CHURCH you called THE WRONG CALL CENTER REP!!!! cause I know my stuff and I am STEADFAST AND IMMOVABLE FOR REAL AND FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to stand your ground, Miss Independent! I think my favorite moment of someone trying to save me from my Mormonism told me "I know all about your religion, I've read all about John Smith, and I think you're too nice a girl to end up with all those husbands" - man, it was hard not to crack up, but you have to give them credit for trying, and not just writing us off, right?
