field trip

In November 2011, I took my nephews Alex and Mark to Harpers Ferry National Park in Harpers Ferry, WV we spent around FOUR hours doing the jr. ranger program and completing all sorts of activities and learning all about the park.. I am SO GLAD that we went. The boys had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the town that they live in. I am so grateful I have such wonderful nephews to do such fun things with.. They are one of the reasons I moved back here. :)

Holiday/Thanksgiving 2011

For Thanksgiving 2011, I went to my friend Dawn Roop's house in Manassas, VA. She is the aunt of my one of my " best good friends" Danielle Gauthier. I don't know why I decided to go there.. maybe because they are nice to me.. maybe because my family is not very nice to me regarding holidays.. so there I went.

missionary Keli

I served a NINETEEN month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints yes NINETEEN MONTHS.. There were two transfers that I could pick one sent me home a bit early one sent me home a bit late.. I chose the latter.. since I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints...but um yes I digress.. ..
for TEN of those months I served around Elder Marcus McCabe. He is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. I have nothing but nice things to say about him.. SUPER FUNNY!!! SUPER KIND!!!! and just an all around nice guy.. ( He was also very attractive) I never told him that.. and it is a moot point now because he is married to a great woman with four darling kids:)
  On my mission I loved when I served around Elder McCabe we always had some fun times..Every six months my mission chartered buses and we went to the LA LDS temple.. Here are Elder McCabe and I at the LA temple June 2000..this is before digital camera's so he felt like it was OK to make a silly face.. I have a multitude of Elder McCabe stories and when I found this picture I thought I would share just one...
When we were both serving in Bakersfield, CA my companion and I would see him and his companion every day. There are a lot of LDS people in Bakersfield, and sometimes members would meet him and then they would say to us..
( and it was always women that said this)
SISTERS HAVE YOU MET THAT ELDER FROM TEXAS!!!??? .........................and we ALWAYS knew which Elder they were talking about Elder McCabe left quite an impression with his outgoing, witty, charming personality. When we would say yes we know Elder McCabe they would say " oh and then gush and tell us that he was so nice or they loved his accent or that he was so funny.. and some told us they thought he was hot... I am not joking ..married women telling Sister missionaries that an Elder was hot.. oh my..When I found this picture I thought of that story and the impression he left on people.. so much so that I am pretty sure he MARRIED someone from Bakersfield. It was not just there though where ever he went , where ever he served people reacted to him that way.. like " well that Elder from Texas.. "as I was thinking I thought about myself and the impression I leave on people.. I think when people are like Have you met Keli from the Oak Marr Ward.. sometimes I wonder what I am leaving in my wake .. like am I being as nice as I could be.. ? or as caring or as thoughtful.. so this picture is going to be an inspiration to me to again re-dedicate myself to be a better person.. so hopefully in the future people can say " the Oak Marr ward do you know Keli Wright!!!???

When I was 19.. I really wanted a convertible or a T-top..omgosh is that showing my age to much to say I wanted a T-TOP!!! hahahhaha there was this incredibly cool guy that I knew that was in his TWENTIES.. and way hot..but don't get the wrong idea.. I just worked with his family.. BUT this guy drove the COOLEST car.. a DATSUN 280Z ...which they did not even MAKE anymore when I was old enough to drive.. but I just wanted one so bad.. but I had NO IDEA how to go about GETTING one..so I went by the dealership..and asked I could TEST DRIVE ONE.. then drove it by the guy's house that I liked ...and honked the horn a lot...true story...hahahahah I must have looked INCREDIBLY COOL.. I mean I am SHOCKED dude did not come out and ask me to marry him right there and THEN...so here I am on my test drive..I had a "wingwoman" with me..but I can't remember who.. maybe someone named Janet..??
 I wish that I had, had the self-confidence or the know how to have bought this car..but at that time I did not.. sad..I guess it was not my car destiny..
currently I drive a dented '99 Chevy Blazer.. I love my car..but sometimes I wish I could get a Jeep or a large SUV or truck or an electric car..I am like that.. In my fantasy world I need/want a large vehicle to haul all my stuff..but also an electric car to drive for every day..I do have the self-confidence and the know how to get the car I want these days ..but not the $$ ..but ONE DAY I WILL HAVE THE $$..until then..maybe I should go test drive one and drive it by some guy's house and beep the horn a lot.. hahahahah ...or maybe not...
