quote

Early in our lives, we learn to guard our hearts. It is like we erect a fence around our hearts with a gate in it. No one can enter that gate unless we allowe him or her to. In some cases the fence we erect could be likened to a small picket fence with a welcome sign on the gate. Other hearts have been so hurt or deadened by sin that they have an eight-foot chain-link fence topped with razor wire around them. The gate is padlocked and has a large no trespassing sign. Let us all apply the idea of a gateway to our heart-Gerald N. Lund 2008

quote

All of us have problems. We face them everyday. How grateful I am that we have difficult things to wrestle with. They keep us young, if that is possible. They keep us alive. They keep us going. They keep us humble. They pull us down to our knees to ask the God of heaven for helping solve them. Be grateful for your problems, and know that somehow there will come a solution. Just do the best you can, but be sure that it is the very best then leave it in the hands of the Lord. -Gordon B. Hinckley 2003

quote

The Lord isn't asking us to load up a handcart: he is asking us to fortify our faith. He isn't asking us to walk across a continent, He is asking us to walk across the street to visit our neighbor. He isnt asking us to give all our wordly possesions to build a temple; He is asking us to give of our means and time despite the pressures of modern living to continue to build temples and then to attend regulary the temples all ready built. He isnt asking us to die a martyrs death; He's asking us to live a disciples life. This is a great time to live, brothers and sisters, and it is up to us to carry on the rich tradition of devoted commitment that has been the hallmark of previous generations of Latter-day saints. This is not the time for the spirtually faint of heart. We cannot afford to be superficially righteous. Our testimonies must run deep, with spiritual roots firmly embedded in the rock of revelation. We must continue to move forward as a covenanted, consecrated people with faith in every footstep "till the purpose of God shall be accomplishedand the Great Jehovah shall say THE WORK IS DONE!" that it may be so for us is my humble prayer in the name of Jesus Christ amen.. quote

" In the private sactuary of one's own conscience lies that spirit of determination to cast off the old person and to measure up to this spirit, that determination to cast off the old person and to measure up to the stature of true potential . In this spirit, we again issue that heartfelt invitation : Come back . We reach out to you in the pure love of Christ and express our desire to assist you and welcome you into full fellowship. To those who are wounded in spirit or who are struggling and fearful, we say, let us lift you and cheer you and calm your fears"

Thomas S. Monson May 2008- as quoted by D. Todd Christofferson November 2008

They spend one day together and he learns a lot about his mother and forgiveness. I cryed at the end. I highley reccommend this book!

way to be by president Hinckley

Harley just changed my lightbulb, she had to stand on a rickety dresser and it was so scary. I am glad she did not fall or the dresser did not just fall to pieces with her on top of it. I have no idea why my ceilings are so high! Vern had to come over the other night and stand on my bathroom sink to change my bathroom light and he is over 6 ft. tall!!!

book

I love to read books that are for teens and tweens. I found one at the thrift store called Turnabout. It is about two women both over 100 that take an expieramental drug that makes them grow younger. when they are in their teens again they deciede to go on the run. I gave this to Megan in my ward when I was done reading it who is about 14 or 15. I felt so good giving her a book that had NOTHING innappropiate in it at all that I knew would hold her attention too. I think it would have been neat to read this book if it were written for adults too like to have the scenes much more fleshed out. I did really enjoy it though and reccommend it.

book

I read the book "The Wednesday Sisters" . I found it at the thrift store and thought that it looked good. It is amazing to me that after I got my book room all clean and organized it was like something clicked in my brain and I just started reading like CRAZY! This book was very good, it made me laugh and cry. It is the story of five women in CA in the 1960's and 70's. They meet at the playground where their kids play and all share a love of literature. They deciede that they are all going to start writing books and working on getting published. The women get to know each other and help each other through the ups and downs of life. I reccommend this book, I loved it :)

book

I copyed this off Good Reads, Im talking about The Lost Symbol:)

I liked this book OK I mean it kept my attention and I really enjoyed reading about the different buildings in DC because I am from there. It was just so anti-climatic and so formulaic... It just got old... and all of their revelations I all ready knew... they were not revelations to me...How many prominant men with beautiful single unattatched women they are related to can Robert Langdon possibly KNOW... and if these women are so wonderful and he is so cool they why doesnt he end up with any of them??? He also must suck as a teacher because he is the ONLY one that can decipher this stuff...just sayin

SPOILER

men can become Gods allready know and believe that the bible is the word and you can learn a lot by reading that, know that too

book

I listened to Welcome to The world Baby girl on audio. I really enjoyed Fannie Flagg's other two novels and this one was no different. The characters were great. I liked the plot and the storyline. It is about Deena who is a TV newslady but has a lot of issues revolving around her past. Deena needs to figure out who she is, how she can solve her problems and what she really wants to do with her life. I also really really enjoyed the ending , very sweet and I really reccommend this book :)

book

My aunt sent me " Eat Pray Love" on audio and really wanted me to listen to it. I put it on while I was cleaning my house and I really enjoyed it. It is about a lady that is really unhappy in her life and her marriage. She gets divorced but still is unhappy she deciedes to take a year off and find herself.
first she goes to Italy, she had always wanted to perfect her italian. She does that and eats a lot of Italian food. Second she goes to India and gets really in touch with her spiritual side through meditation and such. Then she goes to Indonesia, where she meets a lot of people that she really learns to love. I really liked her for the most part and enjoyed being on her journey with her. I was not a huge fan of Richard from Texas people like that kind of get on my nerves. I am glad that he was able to get through to her though. I am just not into that kind of person. I also wish that she had waited at the end when you read it you will know what I mean, overall though I really liked it I think that it is a great read and would reccomend it :)

Movie

Ok so I like to write about all the movies I have seen but with all the organizing and book reading and TV watching and other things I have been doing I have not had a chance to keep up on the movies I have seen! here is a quick review of the ones I can remember

1. The Land of The Lost- I took Sami and Jessyca to see this at the $ theater this is probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen I considered many times just getting up and walking out. I later heard many people did. I have no idea why Will Farrell did this but he got a paycheck for it..

2. Imagine That- I'm not sure of the title but it was with Eddie Murphy and his daughter. very good family film, clean and very cute. I went with Harley to see this at the $ theater

3. Transformers 2- took Harley and Magdali, I really liked it!

4. Harry Potter -the order of the phoenix- watched this at Kathy's I liked it, Kathy had a hard time following it as I think that everyone does that has not read the books

5. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince- Kathy and I went and saw this at the $ theater I really liked it except it took them an hour and a half to fix the sound to an adequete volume. Kathy said she liked this one much better.I will have to agree this one was very well done...

6. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past- Matthew McConaghy plays the same character in every movie! It was neat though to see him realize how his actions had really effected people.

7.Ghost- I made Harley and Magdali watch this with me, at first they were really apphensive but then they really really liked it. They said Patrick Swayze would be really hot if he did not have David Hasslehoff hair. They liked everything about the movie. They went home and told their parents we watched a movie called GHOST! There parents said yes that is old!! I had a lot of fun introducing one of my favorites to them :)

8. I wanted to watch a Halloween movie like the old Dracula or something like that, but I did not find one that I wanted to watch oh well maybe next year!
