My mission president's wife gave us this poem
Latter-day Pioneers by Pamela C. Johnson
I have no pioneer blood in my veins
no relations who crossed the plains
no one who knew Joseph in Nauvoo.
No one who stayed in Winter Quarters
Im the one in my line
who came to Zion
I didn't walk the way
beside a wagon
I flew
No I didn't bury relatives on the plain
I lost them when I joined just the same.
I'm a pioneer of a different kind.
I will be the founder
of a modern line
A numerous posterity
that starts with me.
